Quality Control & Compliance

Coconut Motif

As a supplier to industrial food manufacturers, we understand that our ingredients must perform predictably in your formulations. Coco de Puerto Rico operates an FDA-registered facility adhering to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and HACCP protocols.

Laboratory Testing

Every batch of coconut water, milk, and oil undergoes rigorous in-house and third-party laboratory testing before release.

  • Microbiological: Total Plate Count, Coliforms, E. Coli, Salmonella, Yeast & Mold.
  • Physicochemical: pH, Brix, Titratable Acidity, Fat Content (Gerber method), Moisture, Free Fatty Acids (FFA).
  • Organoleptic: Taste, color, and aroma profiling by trained technicians.

Certificates of Analysis (COA)

A lot-specific COA accompanies every industrial shipment. This document details the exact parameters of your batch against our standard specifications. We maintain retain samples of every lot for 24 months to support your own internal traceability requirements.

Common Mistakes in Coconut QA

The most frequent issue we see with manufacturers switching from inferior suppliers is failing to account for natural variation. While we strictly control our processes, coconut is an agricultural product. A 24% fat milk may vary by ±0.5%. Your formulations must have standard operating procedures for minor adjustments, or you must request specialized, standardized blending which increases cost.

Thermal Processing Standards

Depending on the product and your requirements, we utilize different thermal treatments to ensure safety and shelf stability:
