About Coco de Puerto Rico
Coco de Puerto Rico was founded in 2018 by agricultural engineers frustrated with the opacity of the global coconut supply chain. We saw industrial buyers struggling with inconsistent quality, adulterated products, and the ethical liabilities of sourcing from untraceable commodity brokers in Southeast Asia.
We built a different model: a vertically integrated, strictly regional supply chain based entirely in Puerto Rico.
The Commodity Problem
Most commercial coconut products are traded as bulk commodities. A drum of coconut milk arriving at a US factory might contain coconuts harvested across three different countries, stored for weeks before processing, and subjected to heavy thermal treatment to mask degradation. The result is a flat, uninspiring ingredient.
The Puerto Rican Solution
By limiting our sourcing network to Puerto Rico, we guarantee that every coconut is processed within 28 hours of harvest. We operate a single, state-of-the-art facility in Aguadilla. Operating under US jurisdiction provides our clients with absolute regulatory certainty and quality control.

- David Chen, VP Logistics: Ensures seamless cold-chain transport from our facility to the mainland US via Jones Act compliant vessels.
Why "Coco de Puerto Rico"?
We chose the name to reflect absolute provenance. When you buy our coconut water or coconut oil, you are buying the distinct terroir of the Caribbean. The high mineral content of the limestone soils in the northwest yields a sweeter water, while the heavy rainfall in the east produces meat with exceptional fat density.
